(She/her) PhD, all about eusociality, reproductive constraint, olfaction and a good evolutionary story. Can be found cross stitching, playing DnD or reading
Most exciting result from my PhD, QMP induces starvation in Drosophila! Hopefully this helps us a little in our understanding of how queen pheromones and eusociality evolve! Check it out! Couldn't have done it without @e_j_duncan and @peterkdearden

I've spent years walking past the ever growing wall of papers outside our lab and being really proud of the work my friends have done. Today I realised that I was first author on 2 of them, and middle on another. It's been a tough year, but that certainly made my day!
Do bees and flies "smell" queen mandibular pheromone? Check out our latest work and find out! https://t.co/92IGcozwAr. @MackenzieLoveg1@rosieknapp @peterkdearden
Just finished this wonderful book! I was already in love with the dipterans, and this reinforced that. It's a great read with fun fly facts- the best kind. @flygirlNHM
Great to have these quality genomes and annotations out - and it was the work of many!
Erin Wilson-Rankin and Jessica Purcell from UC Riverside did the western yellowjacket assembly.
Finally finished my lock down project- a cross stitch of the #mightynein from @CriticalRole. I cannot recommend this show highly enough, and I know many fellow DnD nerds feel the same. Pattern by KawaiiCrossStitchUK on Etsy.
Partner: I'm going out for dinner with friends. Me: sweet! Evening alone, so many possibilities- stitching, trashy TV, murder podcasts--can't wait!... He leaves, I work on a paper all evening.. I think I'm doing relaxing wrong?
