@joel00311465 @LNER See additional context I've given to original tweets. It remains unclear to me how the announcement was intended, but I still thought it was important to flag it and request clarification @LNER#BLMLondon
@joel00311465 @LNER If that is what was meant then I'd be in full support - but the statement was ambiguous, I got the impression the concern for lives was referring to covid transmission at protests rather than black lives lost historically as a result of oppression. #BLMUK
@LNER Thank you for your reply - I will be interested to hear the explanation behind these comments after you have followed up. But I'd also like to add that "political neutrality" is not justification for failing to condemn racism, depending on the intention behind the announcement.
@joel00311465 @LNER It isn't clear to me how this announcement was intended - it came across to me as condemning those travelling to blm protests in London, but it could also be interpreted as anti-racist, hence asking for clarification.
Congratulations @JensVanEeckhove on submitting his PhD! Awesome work under difficult circumstances! It was great to celebrate and have a drink virtually with you and @rosieknapp@tom_dally89 Kane Yoon and James Rouse 🎉🐝
We rightly lament environmental destruction elsewhere, yet we do almost nothing to restore our own lost ecosystems. The hygrothermic maps suggest that the natural vegetation type here is temperate rainforest. But centuries of degradation have created a wet desert.
