@citrusdayss @UW_Archy269 With so many people arriving, a huge area in front of the stage had to be clear, pushing the merch booths further out to the periphery! This is a great example of how the conditions on the ground during an ephemeral event are often more important than any prior planning.

@citrusdayss @UW_Archy269 Absolutely! And when Woodstock ended great effort was made to erase its impact from the landscape. No permanent structures were erected, and almost all of the trash was cleaned up afterwards!

@UW_Archy269 Over the pandemic I have found my home-space becoming increasingly entrapping, leaving me with bad feelings. I recently repainted my room to new colors I liked better and this had a great impact, I want to paint the rest of my space now! #UW_Archy269

@UW_Archy269 The case study on the Spanish civil war had numerous examples where investigating the past had clear political ramifications in the present. The paper argued that archaeologists should focus their efforts where most useful, and avoid politicization of memory. #UW_Archy269

@UW_Archy269 Since I'm stuck inside mostly I've been going back to one of the older forms of material culture- books! I've been reading Sartre's 'Between Existentialism and Marxism' and 'The Metamorphosis of Prime Intellect' by Roger Williams- that one started as an E-Book! #UW_Archy269

@UW_Archy269 Archaeology is the practice of studying human material culture and its historic remains. Archaeology can give us insights that history sometimes leaves out, including insights into the day to day lives of everyday people in the past. I love archaeology! #UW_Archy269
