What I want you to think about today is how China have played this game to perfection. They don’t even consider themselves in a race and they don’t need to.

They’re just one step behind and that’s fine by them because this is not about having the best frontier models, it’s about having the U.S. constantly living in perpetual fear of what they are doing.

They are just a footstep behind for a fraction of the cost. Their models are cheaper and open source, at a time when the world no longer sees the U.S. as a reliable partner.

U.S. allies are now beginning to remove their reliance on U.S. tech and China is quietly waiting in the wings acting like the adult in the room, as the U.S. extorts trading partners and attempts to use military force to get its way in the world. It’s Neanderthal diplomacy in their caveman world moulded by out of touch old white men.

China has to do nothing. Just let the US self-immolate as they sit with their 25 year plan. Energy insecurity does not exist in China, they can add capacity 6 to 7 times faster than the US, and can achieve this with cheap green energy.

If you add to that, they are estimated to be years ahead of the US on nuclear energy even before we discuss their already gold standard infrastructure.

Just to add the cherry on the cake, US greed has paid for most of it, derived from when the US went in search of cheap Chinese labour under Reagan and then Clinton.

While the US was filling the pockets of the asset class, the Chinese used Western income to lift 800 million Chinese out of poverty, invest in gold standard infrastructure and education that has now provided them with a pool of labour that are the best educated in the world.

Tell me, exactly who is winning again?

@Batman2242 Rubbish! I live rural QLD and have an EV. I mostly charge at home off solar/battery and I have the range to get to all the places that I frequently visit and back home. I occasionally visit further away rural towns, but I have had no trouble charging in the towns.
