Humane is the perfect cautionary tale of how talented people get completely distorted from reality by staying at large, successful companies for too long.
Are you really a great product designer? Or do you just work at Apple?
Are you actually great at sales? Or do you just work at Google?
Are you really an incredible growth marketer? Or do you just work at Instagram?
After a certain size, the brands sell themselves.
The only way to test your abilities is to leave the shelter of these mega brands and go out and build something yourself from scratch.
(And usually throwing lots of money at the problem pre-launch isn't going to help you.)
Trouble is, the body’s modeled like a baby: soft mass, stubby limbs, a toddler’s face. An adolescent’s pose on infant anatomy, with no real attempt to reconcile the two.
The polish hides how little is modeled underneath, and the hands and feet barely resolve. The silhouette has rhythm, but as iconography the piece doesn’t know what it is. I’m not sure why you made such a decision with proportions too.

I have to give it to @ElonMusk.
Every time I open X, it becomes clearer that the people who live on this app are operating in a completely different reality from the rest of us.
He didn’t build a town square. He built a safe space for the worst people in society to thrive.
Kudos, Elon. 📱🧵

I firmly believe that we can literally feel the amount of handmade human care put into something.
That’s why the old animated films often feel like they have more “soul.”
That is the expression of human care you’re sensing.
I hope we don’t lose this.

China absolutely decimating every corner of the world’s oceans is without question the biggest environmental catastrophe happening right now, as in an actual ecological disaster, yet the “save the planet” grifters never talk about it, while forcing us to use paper straws.
