Some personal news!! Tomorrow will be my last day as an advisor to the @ClimateEnvoy.
I’m headed to @Stanford as a @KnightHennessy Fellow, pursuing an MBA + MS in the brand-new climate school.

Really great looking seminar on FOAK project financing and development featuring @MadisonCFreeman and @FervoEnergy's own Gabe Malek. April 18, 12pm PT.
Open to the public, sign up here: https://t.co/qG8Wgsxenm
Excited to support @MadisonCFreeman’s seminar on financing First of a Kind climate projects through the Stanford Sustainable Finance Institute. Please join next week!

The European Union officially adopts a clean hydrogen definition, grounded on the "Three Pillars" assessed in @wilson_ricks & my paper (https://t.co/tl2et2jcqV):
1. New supply
2. Deliverability
3. Hourly matching.
The US must follow suit and adopt rules at least as stringent.
*Another* exciting industrial heat announcement for the day -- @rondoenergy is building a factory in Thailand that will be 2.5x the size of Tesla's gigafactory to produce heat batteries with widely available materials
🚀Big News in #cleanenergy! Rondo Energy is set to operate the world's largest battery factory in partnership with Siam Cement Group. This facility will have a staggering 90 GWh/year capacity! A game-changer for decarbonizing the industrial sector! 🔋

Making your next beer more electric -- congratulations @AddisonKStark and the rest of the @AtmosZeroSteam team on the public announcement of their exciting new industrial decarbonization tech!
Soon your bottle of Fat Tire Ale could be made using steam from an electric-powered heat pump — not a fossil-fueled boiler. @jeffsaintjohn on AtmosZero's newly unstealthed technology that could to fill a niche in the industrial decarbonization landscape 🍻

A must read for anyone working in climate tech. We need more creative approaches to capital to scale new and existing climate solutions. https://t.co/w4W0SJEn3F
A massive backlog of interconnection requests is blocking the🌞solar deployments we need to decarbonize our grid -- and the problem is getting worse each year. Great analysis out of @climatetech_vc
stories on America's political divide:
- tired
- see it every day
stories on America's HOME HEATING divide:
- wow, new information
- relevant to decarbonization
- how did it get like this??
Very proud of this piece w/ @JohnMuyskens and @NaemaAhmed

Very exciting -- @Universal_H2 just flew the largest plane powered by hydrogen!
UH2's hydrogen modules are loaded on the plane like cargo instead of requiring traditional fueling (== safer, greener, & more economic) & the jet size can serve real regional routes
More awesome footage of our first test flight of the world's largest hydrogen fuel cell powered airliner last week (yes it's green hydrogen, no it's not the Hindenburg)
US EV manufacturing is now on track to reach 4.5 million vehicles a year, with more projects in the pipeline. Once preliminary plans announced by Ford, Honda, Volvo, and BMW are finalized, production levels could meet the Biden administration’s goal of 50% EV sales by 2030. 3/8
Four years ago today, John & I built up enough conviction to start @WeaveGrid
Even back then, I remember us talking about "how do we attract the best talent to solve these hairy problems in climate?"
And now we're doing it, as I say in @washingtonpost

in the (very few) studies that have been done, around 1/4 to 1/3 of EV chargers are broken at any time — and often it takes 3+ weeks to fix them
Huge opportunity for companies like @ChargerHelp@KamealeC to fix this and make our EV infrastructure actually work for everyone
Broken chargers are a big problem for EV adoption. We don’t have national data on this yet, but nearly 1/4 of chargers in the San Francisco area were broken, according to a recent study from the non-profit Cool the Earth. 🧵👇

Had an amazing time visiting @antoraenergy on Friday! Here’s CEO Andrew Ponec and I dressed in our most stylish outfits in their lab, where Antora is developing a new way to decarbonize industrial heat and power
