Today is the 5th anniversary of the passing of the #MuslimBan. The hateful act has left families separated and thousands of people still unable to enter our nation. It's not enough to end the ban. @POTUS must address its ongoing harmful effects.
@Noahpinion Tens of thousands Diversity Visa winners from 2017 to 2020 were denied visas under #MuslimBan#AfricanBan#ImmigrantBan. Congress could provide prompt legislative measures to fix the issue. It's about broken promises. #DVLottery#DV2017-2020
Due to the Travel Ban & other bans related to COVID-19, many selected for the Diversity Visa between 2017 - 2020 had their permission to come to the US revoked.
Stand with Diversity Visa recipients & tell Congress to support the Keeping our Promise Act: https://t.co/qskvYiRLnU
Also keep in mind the plight of the #DV2017 to #Dv2020 winners. Those who acquired a legal benefit should all receive it !! That’s the only ethical solution.
@CAIRNational@CAIRSFBA@cairdfw CAIR's vision and mission is to be leading Advocate for justice, Protect civil and muslim rights.
"We Diversity visa winners as the biggest victims of #Muslimban racist order, expect CAIR to push biden admin and congress to find a solution for us."
@CAIRNational@CAIRSFBA@cairdfw@NihadAwad This issue goes beyond a simple visa denial. It's about broken promises of the US administration, racism and discrimination based on nationality and religion.
It deeply threatens democracy and human Rights. We need a significant action and strong will from CAIR group.
@imraansiddiqi Hello Imraan.Diversity visa winners as the biggest victims of #Muslimban,

CAIR was supposed to call biden admin and congress to find a solution for us

@SAALTweets@POTUS Good comprehensive article but Safaa Aly should've also written about Diversity Visa lottery winners 2017-2020 that were denied visas under #MuslimBan.I am one of the biggest victim of trump rasict orders.@POTUS must keep his promise to address the harm caused by this ban.
@mobbiemobes Good article Mobashra, just Safaa Aly should've mentioned Diversity Visa 2017-2020 lottery program plight either. They were extremely harmed by discriminatory bans of the previous admin. #DVLottery
@ckuck@RepRitchie We greencard lottery winners(2017-2020)
were selected and invited by U.S gov,
but all refused just because of our nationality & religion
It's unfair & against human right
DO JUSTICE .
