The 2023 #NobelPrize in Physiology or Medicine has been awarded to Katalin Karikó and Drew Weissman for their discoveries concerning nucleoside base modifications that enabled the development of effective mRNA vaccines against COVID-19.
Magdalena Migalska is a Postdoc at @JagiellonskiUni, Krakow. She studies the evolution of the vertebrate #ImmuneSystem, focusing on the major histocompatibility complex (MHC). As participant in #LINO23, she is also featured on the @Women_Research blog: https://t.co/kP9mjx5RAa

Fresh and inspiring & you showed exactly how important it is to pay attention to the genetic differences among species-how quirks of their immune systems evolved to function in a certain context, and if we disregard it,we may stray away form the right answers!
