I am looking for teachers who use reciprocal teaching. I would like to ask them questions about their successes and struggles. Any help to find teachers would be much appreciated.
@teachthomps Basic EL supports: realia, sentence stems, and expect to front-load background information. It's a struggle to recognize unknown words that impact their comprehension. It is hard for them to create questions. Use role cards. I used Google to find good basics for them to use.
Hello! I am doing my dissertation on the power of reciprocal teaching when working with struggling readers. I have used this with EL students in primary grades and have seen it work with high school students as well. @teachthomps
Every single classroom project on @DonorsChoose was just funded – Happy #BestSchoolDay! Thank you to @Ripple for supporting teachers across the country!
Had my 8th graders create a song using the top 20 prepositions. LOTS of resistance, but SOOOO AWESOME!! They enjoyed it and have made some great songs!
@loudlearning I tell my daughters' teachers so that they can let me know if they are acting unusual, struggling with things that have previously been addressed, and can look for flags that something is not working. I want to be informed if I need to make a doc appointment to switch meds.
Having students create a Fakebook profile for one of the main characters in the Call of the Wild. This will be in replacement for a test on the story. Trying to be creative!
Research shows that #reading comprehension in #ELL students gets a boost when kids are exposed to culturally relevant books https://t.co/DDsYUdB8fm #edchat#elachat#parents#tlchat
Half-way through Call of the Wild. We are going to do reciprocal teaching on Tuesday with the students doing the jobs that THEY have selected. We will see how it goes...I am expecting awesome!
