Here you go: Westminster Confession of Faith, Chapter 1, Section 3:
“The books commonly called Apocrypha, not being of divine inspiration, are no part of the canon of the Scripture, and therefore are of no authority in the Church of God, nor to be any otherwise approved, or made use of, than other human writings.”
The real issue with mega churches isn’t the lights, the music or even the TED-talk sermons. The real problem is all those Christians who are the body of Christ not using any of their spiritual gifts, but just show up for the show to watch the paid performers.
That’s why we have some of the largest churches that have ever existed in the United States, yet Christianity has no influence in our society. Church is no different than any other spectator sport.
@IrelandWylliam@Biblicalman Creative sport but doesn’t fit with God’s curse upon the serpent in 3:14 nor the designation as the craftiest of the beasts in 3:1.
Sounds like your concern is relational, not financial, so most advice on here won’t help you. I would see if your sister has a financial issue. You seem to reference something about her husband. You have several options: 1. Find out if she has a need and see if you can help her since you have prospered and you do love and value her. 2. If she doesn’t want help, then buy the land back at a price you both believe is fair. (That land has to have appreciated as well, maybe not as much as your gold purchase, but it’s definitely worth more than the 300k purchase price. But this optiononly works if you want the land. 3. If she is just jealous because your investment I.e. buying gold was better than her investment of buying land, there is nothing you can do about that except tell her you love her and be excited when she sells the land for a profit!
I just bought a Model Y. It’s a great vehicle. I love it. But had to wait till my family was grown. Maybe @elonmusk can turn that cybertruck into a 7 passenger vehicle. If he’s all about people having more kids (I have 4), then make a Tesla that can actually fit a family of 6-7 people. I know the Model Y can have a 3rd row, but no one can ride back there comfortably. @Tesla please put out a vehicle that supports a larger family!
@Nanndy16@BornAgainBalaky If God wills all people to be saved, then one of two things must be true.
Either all are saved, or God’s will is contingent on human permission.
Pick one. Scripture does not allow a third option.
@davidmn316@M1NDW4RD3N Oh no, you got me with your profound gotcha question. Yes. God decrees everything.
Now my turn. Yes or no: does God’s decree make Him the author of sin?
@davidmn316@M1NDW4RD3N No, I fully understand. He built the case on a strawman: ‘Calvinism says God requires evil for glory.’ That is not what we teach.
And yes, I’m also calling out the arrogance. Lots of online theology is more emotion than exegesis.
