Behali is still dying!
Behali wildlife sanctuary is the last pristine forest of Biswanath district still on the verge of extinction. In extreme north, a border-disputed area, rampant encroachment & deforestation continue to shroud the forest and threaten its rich biodiversity.
Called on Honourable Education Minister of Assam, Dr. Ranoj Pegu sir at Janata Bhawan yesterday. I am glad to present him a copy of my book.
@ranojpeguassam
Pranoy Mahanta a Class 9 student from Behali sent me this cute video of playing elephants at the Behali Wildlife Sanctiary.
It is encouraging to see the wildlife enthusiasm in today's youth. Their passion drives Assam's relentless efforts in preserving our wildlife.
Every season, Assam has something magical to offer. The blooming Azar flowers add a surreal charm to the landscape, creating a scenic beauty beyond imagination.
So why not plan an unforgettable getaway to #AwesomeAssam!

Expanding faunal habitats ๐
During regular patrolling, @BiswanathPol spotted a tiger at the 6th extension of Kaziranga National Park in Biswanath.
We are creating suitable habitats for our faunal friends and safeguarding them round the clock so that they continue to thrive.
When I was in Congress they entrusted me with the Health & Education Departments and I brought in a revolution in both these departments.
I think they deliberately kept me out of the Forest Dept because an inner coterie was running a well-planned poaching syndicate.
