Deeply shocking that few days earlier Police acted atrociously towards the Scheduled Caste (SC) fisherfolk families of the "Bar" community in Rajendrachak village, under Deshbandhu Gram Panchayat in Egra Block II, Purba Medinipur district. Under the pretext of searching for miscreants, the Police vandalized the homes and belongings of Prabhat Bar, Pankaj Bar, Sushanta Bar, Gurupada Bar, and Aditya Bar. Such barbaric actions by Mamata Banerjee’s anti-SC police are utterly unacceptable and won't be tolerated.

Today, a delegation comprising of the Hon’ble MP of Contai; Shri Soumendu Adhikari, along with five Hon'ble BJP MLAs; Shri Ambika Roy, Smt. Sumita Sinha, Shri Arup Das, Shri Rabindranath Maiti and Shri Santanu Pramanik visited the affected families to inquire about their well-being and assured them of all possible support. We stand firmly with these families and are committed to ensuring justice for them.
I had earlier urged the DGP of West Bengal Police, Shri Rajeev Kumar (IPS), to take stringent action against the guilty Police Personnels under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.
If the Police remain indifferent then the doors of Judiciary would certainly be knocked in due time.

Just another day in Mamata Banerjee’s West Bengal: In Nonadanga Sabujpalli, ward 108 of Anandapur PS, a woman was discovered dead in the bushes. The circumstances of her death remain unclear, including whether she was assaulted prior to being murdered.

In West Bengal, women's lives seem to hold little value. The frequency of such murders is alarming, yet the details rarely come to light. The West Bengal Police often suppresses information, and the matters are quickly brushed aside. When outrage is expressed and accountability is demanded, Mamata Banerjee often dismisses these tragic events as minor or even attacks the victim's character.

It's time to question why such incidents are ignored and demand real accountability for the safety and dignity of women in the state.

1. **Supreme Court Criticism:** The Court questioned the West Bengal police for their delay in sealing the crime scene, noting that it was done 18 hours after the autopsy. This raises serious concerns about potential evidence tampering.

2. **Misleading the Family:** The Solicitor General revealed that the victim’s family was initially misled into believing that their daughter had committed suicide, instead of being informed about the true nature of the crime. This shows your government's utter disregard for truth and justice.

3. **National Task Force:** The Supreme Court has now established a National Task Force (NTF) led by Surgeon Vice Admiral Arti Sarin to address the safety concerns of medical professionals, particularly female doctors. The NTF has been tasked with developing national safety protocols and submitting an interim report within three weeks—a clear indication of your administration's failure to ensure safety.

4. **Status Reports Requested:** The Court has demanded status reports from both the CBI and your government on the investigation and the handling of protests and vandalism at RG Kar Medical College. This highlights the ongoing lawlessness under your watch.

5. **Emphasis on Doctor Safety:** Chief Justice DY Chandrachud emphasized the importance of ensuring the safety and dignity of doctors, calling for urgent systemic reforms across the country—reforms that your administration has clearly neglected.

The Supreme Court’s criticisms and actions underscore your complete failure as both the Home Minister and Health Minister of West Bengal.

While the primary reason for the abysmal Law and Order situation in West Bengal is the criminal incompetence of the Chief Minister as well as the Home Minister, another important reason is that West Bengal neither has a legally appointed Home Secretary nor DGP & Head of Police Force in the state or for that matter any other legally appointed DG.

This is because the post of Home Secretary in West Bengal is an Additional Chief Secretary post, which has been deliberately kept vacant and Smt. Nandini Chakravorty has been illegally assigned the duties of Home Secretary, in addition to the Tourism Department, although she is only a Principal Secretary.

Regarding the post of DGP, the substantive posting of Shri Rajeev Kumar is Additional Chief Secretary; IT Department, so he is answerable to IT Minister Babul Supriyo and not the Home Minister Mamta Banerjee, because he is acting DGP in addition to his normal duties. Furthermore, even this appointment as ACS; IT Department is illegal, as no IPS officer can be appointed as Additional Chief Secretary - only IAS officers can be appointed to the 14 posts of ACS and they are all filled up – leaving him without a substantive posting resulting in his appointment as acting DGP also becoming illegal and thus void.

Furthermore, with West Bengal being the only state in the country that has illegally promoted 10 DGs to Pay level 17 there is effectively no DG level officer in office today. All other states have either one or none in that pay level.

So, we are faced with a spectre of a rudderless state with an illegally appointed Home Secretary, and an illegally appointed Additional Chief Secretary who has been made acting DG of Police in contempt of orders of the Hon’ble Supreme Court (Prakash Singh vs. GoI). Nine other police officers have also been illegally promoted again in contempt of the order of the Hon’ble Supreme Court and in gross violation of the IPS Service Rules and Regulations.
Thus, the Law & Order apparatus in the state is being handled by a set of interlopers handpicked by Her Majesty.
No wonder the victims of excesses perpetrated by the TMC goons feel orphaned and totally helpless.
