Sidenote: Online converters are still using FFmpeg as well but more like this (to embed multiple resolutions into one .ico file for better compatibility)

Online converters usually bundle multiple sizes (16×16, 32×32, 48×48, etc) into one .ico file so it works perfectly everywhere. That’s why they’re bigger.

Your simple FFmpeg command only outputs one size, which is why it’s tiny

The size difference between what random online "ICO converters" give you (15-370 KB) and what you get with a single @FFmpeg command (2.3 KB) is crazy!
