In 2019 there were 7.5 million people living with HIV/AIDS in South Africa, but unfortunately that number has increased to 7.7 million in 2020. This is a concern as South Africa has the highest number of people living with HIV/AIDS in the world.

These dangers include but are not restricted to the transmission of STIs, HIV/AIDS and unplanned pregnancies.
