We pray for favour.
We pray for promotion.
We pray for opportunity.
We pray for breakthrough.
Then opportunity comes— and we arrive late, unprepared, mediocre and careless..... Yet Scripture says: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.”

EXCELLENCE IS WORSHIP.
So perhaps the Christian should be the BEST accountant.
The BEST teacher.
The BEST farmer.
The BEST doctor.
The BEST entrepreneur.

Because if you claim to do everything for God— WHY WOULD YOU GIVE GOD AVERAGE?

And here is an uncomfortable thought: WHAT IF GETTING TO HEAVEN DEPENDED ON HOW EXCELLENT YOU WERE WITH WHAT GOD GAVE YOU?

When were you last THE BEST at something?
Same job.
Same role.
Same ideas.
Same execution.

TEN YEARS.
No sharpening.
No mastery.
No extraordinary output.

Yet you claim WORSHIP?
What if God gave you extraordinary ability— and you returned it as mediocrity?

Church should sharpen us for excellence, not become our hiding place from it.

PRAY. WORSHIP. THEN GO OUT THERE AND BE EXCELLENT.

Because perhaps excellence isn't separate from worship.

EXCELLENCE IS WORSHIP.

"Boss, I know I have your money. But I commit to pay. My wife is going into labour. Just help me with something on top of the other one; I will refund."

"Dear Customer, this is a polite reminder about your loan."

"Your post-paid line has been barred due to insufficient funds."

"James, your father is going for dialysis tomorrow. We hope to be at the hospital at 4 am."

"Hello, parent, Jayden is sitting his exams this month. Prepare for prayer day and to gift his teachers."

"Baba Jay, the tokens."

"Baba Jay, the gas."

"Baba Jay, my mother's consecration in the church women's guild is this Sunday. This is your mother-in-law, for heaven's sake!"

Learn to be strict with yourself.

Your time.

Your resources.

Your business.

Your discipline.

The moment you become mediocre, others will take advantage of you and mess you up.

It is better to be called a bully because being afraid to say NO will cost you a lot.

It is a new month.

October is here,

October gives you another chance.

Only 92 days remain before the year ends.

Whatever has gone wrong this year, don't relent.

• Pursue your goals.

• Sharpen your skills.

• Finish what you started.

When others win, learn to celebrate them.

Jealousy keeps you watching another person's progress until you become blind to the opportunities in front of you.

You may have lost some ground, that is fine.

But you have not lost the year.

Use these 92 days to make up for lost ground.

Finish the year stronger.

Anyone above 29 [to 45] is a millennial.

She’s not standing with you because of what you have. She’s standing with you because she can see the cement factory in you.

A man can lose the job today and build the factory tomorrow.

Some women don’t just see your season. They see your mentality.

Listen,

Before you commit to marrying a woman,

Scrutinize her family.

Know her culture, beliefs and traditions.

Don't marry a woman whose family's beliefs and traditions conflict with yours.

Marry a woman whose cultural beliefs are in agreement with your beliefs.

She and her family must agree to let her become subservient to your family and even religion.

If she is SDA, and you are Catholic, she must abandon SDA and become a Catholic.

She has no excuse for insisting on being SDA. If she is not ready, end the commitment immediately.

Know her parents.

You might be marrying a woman whose father is a night-runner and whose mother is a witch.

Her parents must first respect your parents.

You are doing them a favour by marrying their daughter. Otherwise, she would be a burden to them, fighting her mother, competing with her brothers, and leaving behind a chain of fatherless babies.

If her parents despise your parents because they think your parents are poor, or because they are of a community they loathe, then don't commit.

You must get this right.

Don't just meet a woman in the streets or in college, start an affair, and then impregnate her, and then marry.

This is starting on the wrong footing.

Understand her origin.

• Where does she come from?

• Who is her father?

• What is her family history

• Where are her elder sisters? Are they married?

Otherwise, you will discover serious wounds that were hidden from you, and it will be too late to undo the damage.

Don't marry these rudderless, uncouth, alcoholic women of the city.

They will become an unnecessary burden in your life.

In the end, you and the children will suffer.

But most of you think that because you went to Harvard, have a PhD, and drive a Porsche, you are so clever.

Families that disavow their cultural source will eventually collapse.

• Metaphor

• Hyperbole

Use them regularly to winnow low-IQ chaff from your life.

These can help you differentiate authentic people from cosmetic friends.

Be very careful with friends who incite you to leave your job,

"Leave. That pay is little."

"Your boss is toxic."

"Where I work, they pay me more."

Once you leave, they immediately apply for that job.

You will discover this 4 months later, after they stop talking to you.

When you want to start, start.

Don't wait for a perfect answer. It doesn't exist.

If you want to start, START.

Learn when you fail, iterate when you achieve.

The goal is MASTERY.

Live within your means.

Be content with what you have.

Don't try to live other people's lives.

Don't borrow a loan to buy a car just because a neighbour has a car or because you want to impress people.

Don't buy an M-KOPA phone. Save and buy.

Be at peace with yourself.

I have just learnt that Senator Cyrus Jirongo passed away last December in a motor accident. I was not aware that he had died.
This is very sad. Jirongo was a good and patriotic leader who served his country with dedication. We shall miss him. My condolences go to his family, relatives, friends and the people of Kenya. May his soul rest in peace.
