Instead of creating a society in which being ordinary is not a burden or even a death sentence they go into politics to make sure they never have to live like ordinary people.
I don’t think you guys understand how extremely exciting it is to me that politicians no longer put siren on their cars and drive the wrong side to evade traffic 😂😂😂 they’re stuck in traffic like us coz they’re scared. I honestly used to dream of these things😭😭❤️
We are reflecting
We are re-strategising
We are figuring ourselves out
We are grieving
We are supporting
We are working things out
We are acknowledging the gains
We are showing up in the ways we can
We are keeping our eyes on the game
This too is part of the process
Kenya has been my safest home in Africa, in times when Uganda became too dangerous to be home anymore. And so, today I am joining the Kenyan Demonstration in Berlin as a diehard friend of Kenya.
It's no longer just about the Finance Bill. Free every single person who has been arbitrarily detained. Send KDF back to the barracks. Allow @IMLU_org@HakiKNCHR and @IPOA_KE to conduct independent investigations on the killings of protesters and hold officers to account.
Faith Odhiambo: We need to see all unconstitutional offices scrapped. We don’t want to hear about CSs, the offices of the wife of the President, the wife of the Deputy President, and the wife of the Prime Minister. Let that money go to health and education #JKLive@KoinangeJeff
.@just_sham_it it’s easy to forget, thank you for reminding us what we have also gained thus far. Aluta Continua✊🏾 Look beside you and see your Kenyan brothers and sisters. We are fighting for our future. The tomorrow we are waiting for is here! #RejectFinanceBill2024
It's time for Kenyans to dismantle the school system. The education system is stuck in foreign ideas and the imperialist agenda sugarcoated with "indigenous knowledge." Let's put @chiefnyamweya in charge of education send all the professors back to class.
Today in Uganda's @DailyMonitor. "We are Ugandan mothers who have had to overcome many of our own biases to fully understand, accept, and love our children." Brave, beautiful, and powerful.
The reform agenda of the post- colonial state has reached its glass ceiling.
How can a bad tree produce good fruit?
We have tinkered them and yet they only produce what they were meant to produce: violence and extraction.
Interesting decade ahead.
Yani, my timeline is just tweets about madness: hatred, rape and psychosis. In the midst of socio-economic inequality, we are obsessed with having and policing sex. Clearly, we are not ok. Capitalism is making us go mad, but nobody is saying we need an alternative to capitalism.
Isn't it interesting that it is the Hustler government teargassing people in Mathare and Kibra, and that it is now the Dynasties candidate who is courting them? If anything speaks to the emptiness of KE electoral frameworks, that is it.
