Elle m’a appris que la fin de vie ne se résume jamais �� un diagnostic, à un protocole ou à une décision #médicale.
Elle est aussi une épreuve #humaine, familiale, relationnelle, #spirituelle et #communautaire.

Dans de nombreuses traditions #africaines, les #morts ne sont pas morts. Ils continuent d’habiter notre #mémoire, nos gestes, nos responsabilités et nos liens.

Reconnaître la #souffrance des #vivants, apaiser les angoisses de la fin de #vie, prévenir les #deuils compliqués et défendre des conditions de #mourir plus #humaines : voilà ce que m’enseigne #Ubuntu.

Face à la #mort, la vraie réponse n’est pas l’abandon, mais la solidarité.

I have spent much of my life defending dignity in moments of #vulnerability. As a physician and #palliative care advocate, I have learned that #humanity is tested most when people feel powerless. I never imagined that I would have to defend my own #dignity in this way, after an experience that left me humiliated and without a meaningful response from those who had a responsibility to acknowledge what happened.

@KLM @AirFranceKLM told me that my experience would be treated as a matter of “internal awareness.” I find this deeply troubling. Awareness without acknowledgment is not accountability. Learning without response is not justice. When a person reports humiliation and harm, the answer cannot remain hidden inside an institution.
