Dear Zimbabweans 🇿🇼🇿🇼 and Kenyans 🇰🇪🇰🇪, let me tell you the truth no politician will tell you: you are on your own.
When Wicknell Chivayo's helicopter went down in Marondera on 30 September 2026, presidents typed condolences in less than 24 hours. William Ruto called him "my dear friend" and wrote paragraphs about his warmth and energy.
Mnangagwa's government confirmed and mourned the high-profile businessman before his body was even identified.
But when the Mbuya Nehanda ferry capsized on Lake Kariba on 11 August 2026 and killed 97 people—18 of them children, mothers going to Chalala with food—there was silence.
No hurry. No, "dear friend." That ferry had one working engine and a broken bilge pump; 153 people squeezed into a 90-seater boat. The state knew. The state sent them to die anyway. Mnangagwa only declared a state of disaster after the bodies were counted.
Now look at Eastleigh, Nairobi, 23 October 2026. An 18-storey building that was never approved collapses on 9th Street on top of shops. Workers inside. Traders inside. Seven people are still missing this morning.
And as of this morning, President Ruto—the same man who could write a love letter for Wicknell in hours—has not issued a personal public statement. It is CS Murkomen and Governor Sakaja left to manage dust and blood.
This is the pattern. When money dies, they mourn. When poor people die, they investigate. When a businessman dies, they call him family. When you die in a ferry, in a collapsed building, or on a bad road, you are a statistic.
In Zimbabwe they will tell you about Vision 2030. In Kenya they will tell you about housing projects. But who is housing you? Who is protecting you?
Nobody is coming to save you. Lazarus will have to walk out of the grave by himself...Indeed we need new leaders🇰🇪🇿🇼!
I have never seen anything like this watch Sir Wicknell Chivhayo and wife Lucy Muteke being taken to their home. What a parade of Rolls Royces, we are witnessing history in real time 😳shocking level of richness
