award winning doc about a white preacher who self-immolated in East Texas to protest racism. director @joelfendelman // producer @jchasesanchez // pmd @sabeffy
Charles Moore self-immolated six years ago today.
I usually make a really long post on this day, reflecting on how Moore's death affected me and inspired my research and documentary.
But I am feeling different today.
The film is FREE on Amazon Prime. If you are looking for a resource to help talk to your family or loved ones about these issues, we hope that our film can help start that conversation.
As always, #BlackLivesMatter and #SayTheirNames.
We are saddened by the deaths of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and countless other Black people by white supremacists and those preserving institutional racism. That's what killed these people--not "bad" apples--but people perpetuating the legacies of racism.
We created Man on Fire to start a conversation on white supremacy by focusing on a community marred by its legacy of racism. We hope to continue this conversation today.
(Look, we are just trying to follow suit with all the businesses attempting to profit off of catastrophe capitalism, but--seriously--please only rent this movie if you have the money, time, and energy to spare.)
Sure, society is crumbling and everything right now, but you can still can rent our film on Vimeo or Amazon Prime for only $3.99!

Here is a first draft of our film poster that we decided to scratch because, well, we didn't know what it said. But it looked cool.
We are still scheduling for our spring semester tour that consists of us screening the film and hosting workshops or giving lectures.
View and discuss @ManOnFireFilm on 10/10 with Professor James Chase Sanchez, producer (and member of Christ Church, Bethel VT). https://t.co/ZE7jnvhRe8
Today we screen our film at
