40 something manager sharing all I've learned on the journey to financial independence (FI). FI by 50! Crush debt, build wealth, grow personally, live happily.
A lot happened in Q2 of 2022. We hit #BearMarket2022 territory in #stocks, the #cryptocurrecy space blew up and we're heading towards a #recession. I share all the money that we lost so that you can feel better about your own situation 🙂.

@mbontrager5 DR doesn't understand how math and sequence of returns risk works. Such dangerous advice.
FYI, if you run a Monte Carlo on his advice (100% US stock market returns, 8% withdrawal, 4% inflation) you get a 38% chance of portfolio success.
I couldn’t agree more. Ironically, I didn’t figure this out until I started writing. Which I resisted starting because I didn’t think I was a writer.
Start writing and over time you’ll figure out if you’re a writer.
Writing isn't what you do after you have an idea. It's how you develop an inkling into an insight.
Turning thoughts into words sharpens reasoning. What's fuzzy in your head is clear on the page.
"I'm not a writer" shouldn't stop you from writing. Writing is a tool for thinking.
@RachelFeinstein Saw your hilarious standup tonight. You’re never going to believe this but they named a campground after you in the Rochester, NY area, big guy😀.

Why are you trading your time for money? Are you using your money towards a future with more free time (saving/investing) or less free time (spending) because of your decisions?
@Soverinfinance @AcdntlyRetired *you’re going to be wildly successful as long as you keep trying and don’t quit. It’s the not stopping after failure part that matters.
For those looking to build a following or audience for a business I found this incredibly interesting and useful. They even had a shout out to Cody at @MeasureTwiceMNY for his work with the FI crowd. Great episode.
@Trezor I forgot to tag you but I did buy a @Trezor model one for cold storage. Great experience using it and everything went smoothly.
My comments above aren’t a knock on your product. Just the fact that the everyday person is going to lose passwords and pins. Goodbye crypto.
I officially “own” my own crypto now. All $BTC and $ETH is off of Gemini and into a hardware wallet.
After going through the process, my biggest takeaway was that there’s no way that the average person is doing this. Complex pins, seed words, wallet addresses.
