It was an honor and an incredible experience to present my work on **airway microfold (M) cells** at the @FASEBorg Science Research Conference on **Lung Epithelium in Health and Disease**.
Congratulations to all of the organizers, speakers, and attendees.
Thrilled to share I was awarded the K99/R00 award for continuing my research at @MGH_RI and @harvardmed. Excited to join the @nih_nhlbi group of investigators and contributing towards advancing the field of lung immunity and respiratory health.
New study from our lab demonstrating endomembrane rupture dynamics governing bacterial fate inside host cells. We provide a model for quantitative estimation of bacterial toxin resulting in the dynamic outcomes.
Excited to share some preliminary investigations from my postdoctoral work revealing the first single cell transcriptomes and lineage of functional airway Microfold cells.

Double excited to see our work on the COVER PAGE 😍.
The finalists of the #InspiringScienceAward 2024 are here. The first #finalist is @Shruti__apte for her paper 'An innate pathogen sensing strategy involving ubiquitination of bacterial surface proteins'.
“Focus on what is within your control.”
Medicine laureate Katalin Karikó shared some valuable advice with us in Stockholm yesterday. She sees no point in comparing yourself with people around you, as we are all on our own journey.
Watch her #NobelPrize lecture later today.
With the known significance of their intestinal counterparts in mucosal immune responses, airway Microfold cells present an exciting avenue to explore their roles in lung infections, immunity, and tolerance.
This work expands the revised airway epithelial ensemble reported by the Rajagopal Lab using single cell RNA-sequencing in 2018 (https://t.co/DxjlWGLqIg) by adding Microfold (M) cells to the list of rare airway epithelial cells.
