I observed a consumer using vapouriser and herbal cigarettes, the change is due to had NRT education on everyday planner. Ofcourse they are low in cost and consumer is happy for that. @MHR5000818

@Ananta2k17 I haven't but seen a consumer who takes risperdal consta 50mg in past, now it's reduced to 37.5mg and nurses were observed early signs of relapse like isolation in room, verbal aggression towards parents and no personal hygiene etc. is yet to review by doctor. @MHR5000818

@iscah5000818 It’s really challenging for nurses to work with ED patients. I have seen a consumer with anorexia nervosa who misuses laxatives and emetics to compensate for eating food. Consumer gets them over the counter when goes for grocery shopping.@MHR5000818

Making other person to have healthy diet, regular exercise and attending group activities. It’s important to observe how their relationship when they are placed in same unit.

@mikhala5000818 @melissa5000818 @MHR5000818 Yeah, I heard of that.. it increases one degree of temperature for every hour.. so it’s mandatory to check temperature all the time until recovery. The antidote for this malignant hyperthermia is “Dantrolene” and this drug is highly expensive.

Got an opportunity to visit mental health clinic and CATT team. It’s different experience compared to be in community care. They do initial assessment for coming clients and refers them to respective area depends on their severity of mental illness. @MHR5000818

@Ananta2k17 @MHR5000818 Yeah, I have seen a client who gained weight in short period due to use of clozapine. Client encouraged to do regular exercise and low calorie healthy diet. it worked for him and also decreased 1.5 kg nearly in 2 weeks.

@sana5000818 @MHR5000818 As in inpatient services, treats acute psychiatric symptoms (short term) whereas, in community services treatment is focused on recovery or future focused (long term) eg. back to work or studies etc.

@MHR5000818 New antipsychotic medication Rexulti (brexpiprazole) was prescribed for consumer to treat schizophrenia & is in post marketing surveillance. It is better than other antipsychotics more effective in lower doses & lower extrapyramidal side effects & prolactin elevation.

@sana5000818 I have seen a consumer with OCD, repeatedly checks things (oven turned off, locks, car parking and takes longer time to initiate a work). He needs to be prompted more to get on work, allowing time to carry out ritualistic behaviour and making reasonable time limits. @MHR5000818
