Here is the WIP version of our third person shooter "Shrimps of Doom"!
Grab your friends and shoot them out of the arena! https://t.co/o6o7wvRy54
We patched most bugs since the last #gamejam and further updates will follow.

Together with my team I had an amazing experience creating our third person #multiplayer shooter "Shrimps of Doom" at the #GameJam#GGJ25 !
Each player controls a shrimp, shoots bubbles, and tries to pop the enemy's bubble in order to propell them out of the arena.

The @globalgamejam 2024 was a great experience! We built a little multiplayer web game which is similar to scribbl-io, with the twist that the viewers can manipulate the painter's tools! This is how far we got:

I finished #halflife 1 today, and to be fair it does have a great story and atmosphere, just as the other games in the series.
However, the gameplay is quite repetetive and outdated. I can see that it was great in the #90s, but today its reputation mostly is #nostalgia driven.
So I've been trying out the new #UEFN tools for creating #Fortnite mods, I am just curious about that new ecosystem.
=> UEFN does have built-in version control, however, you can't control your versions with it. A roll-back to a previous version is not possible.
Good troll #Epic!
@VRJsy@PeskyCashew Wellllll it actually wasn't the Space Junkies team that failed. The organizers magically did his best to mess up a great experience, as they always do. (If you remember, they copied the game folders from another hard drive instead of reinstalling it to the new pc)
@SadlyItsBradley Jeff made my most intense moments in video game history.
Besides that, the Northern Star level where you first encounter the lightning dogs. I found the resurrection of the zombies pretty horrifying.
@bigneutrino @ID_AA_Carmack I agree that you can already improve your codes efficiency even in scripting languages like Python if you know what you are doing. But in the end it can be only improved so much, optimizing certain things is not possible as it would make it be something that is no longer Python.
@ID_AA_Carmack There are probably languages which are better suited for scientific problem solving than C++, but the point is everyone just keeps using the snails out of comfort and is unwilling to switch away from ye' good olde tools they always used.
@ID_AA_Carmack The major problem in scientific simulations are often the languages alone. Python, MatLab and many more can be up to 500 times slower than e.g. C++.
I really dislike it that Universities still encourage students to learn coding with these outdated, slow relics.
