Giving clean chit to the contractor by hiding behind technical jargon about mastic asphalt settling or expansion joints is a terrible defence. Taxpayers paid a premium price and shouldn't be told to just drive on it until it smooths out. @mybmc must conduct an independent third-party audit, core tests, and complete accountability for the contractor (who has a bad track record) and civic officials before the monsoon ruins it completely.

Ads on Meta social media platforms advertising "Slum Walking Tours" in India. A Google search is full of these tours in every part of India. Some even offer "Luxury slum walking tours."

These tours are said to profit the operators with little money trickling down to improve the conditions of the poor. In fact, it commodities poverty and creates too many vested interests for slums to exist.

When the govt wants to clear a slum and build better housing for the poor dwellers, there's immediate pushback. And I'm not sure what permissions are taken from local govts for these tours. But I think the govt must definitely pay attention to these mushrooming tours.
