BREAKING: New investigation of a Clover Sonoma supplier shows calves kicked in the face as their horn buds are painfully burned off.
Clover has long advertised the humane treatment of animals at their facilities, striving to even create the false impression that they don’t use factory farms at all. In reality, they’re linked to large factory operations like Double D Dairy and Agresti Calf Ranch that, as this investigation shows, are prone to resorting to especially cruel practices in favor of efficiency. Clover briefly suspended their business with Double D Dairy since our investigation, but have already reinstated them. These findings raise serious concerns about Clover’s entire supply chain and California’s dairy industry as a whole.
It’s time to protect animals and phase out factory farming altogether. Sign our open letter at https://t.co/AVsUxF5kfS if you agree.

BREAKING: The Court of Appeals just overturned Wayne Hsiung’s felony conviction for his role in rescuing 37 abused hens from a factory egg farm called Sunrise Farms. They also overturned his misdemeanor trespass conviction for his role in the rescue of 32 sick ducklings from Reichardt Duck Farm.
The Court ruled that Hsiung should have been allowed to argue that he believed his actions to be legal under the necessity defense. Further, the Court wrote that “Neither this court nor the California Supreme Court has ruled that the necessity defense applies exclusively to situations involving physical harm to a human,” validating that individuals could have the right to violate laws in order to rescue animals from extreme harm.
The Court did not overturn his misdemeanor trespass conviction for his actions at Sunrise Farms or make a clear ruling affirming that the necessity defense actively does apply to nonhuman animals. Consequently, Wayne will be appealing to the California Supreme Court on this issue.
Nevertheless, this is a major step forward towards establishing the Right to Rescue and positioning animals as persons under the law.

@PhilHands@WiStateJournal Yes! I've had similar ideas. I'm so glad you did this. Here's something I did for a local measure in California to ban factory farms in Sonoma county (measure j). I have wanted to do one of a bunch of snoopies in cages (Ridglan) with Woodstock and the gang rescuing then.
@WSJ She's amazing. I wonder what she thinks of animal rights activist and rescuer @Zoe_Rooster being convicted for rescuing 4 chickens from Perdue's Petaluma Poultry slaughterhouse in Sonoma Count where chickens are boiled alive in scalding defeathering tanks. We'd love her input.
@DxEverywhere Sonoma County DA and law enforcement need to do their job and investigate Perdue's Petaluma Poultry and the rest of our factory farms while they're at it. They represent corporations, not citizens, and enjoy spending our tax dollars on their corrupt pursuits. It's embarrassing.
