Manufacturing X, Everyone knows starting a tap straight when hand tapping is crucial as it will cut freer, proper stress distribution..etc. What method do you use to ensure a straight start?

@SkinnyfatTony Yeah they have their place and I couldn't not have them. Lots of tool steel, synthetics, thick aluminum, and aerospace parts that can't be cut on laser. They are a machine born with cancer. Eat themselves from the inside out. Definitely have to enjoy maintenance if you own one 😂

@parthingle_x Looks a little more than galling but have you tried freezing the mating part in dry ice or liquid nitrogen and pressing it? Molykote assembly paste could help as well.
