Empire set out to punish us. To wipe away our memory.
It must pain you to see it like this after witnessing its beauty. What pains me is seeing our own kind fight one another time & time again. Killing each other for reasons too confusing to explain. It made us weak.

The new State of the Panth report, on Women & Gender in Sikhi, aims to understand and explore Sikh conceptions of women and gender, responses to gender-based inequality and oppression, and framings of masculinity.
How did the Sikh Gurus address women’s issues?
How did they frame or reframe gender?
Regarding women’s and gender issues within the Panth (Sikh collective) today, why is there a disparity between precept and practice, and how do we close that gap?
Download the new State of the Panth report on Women & Gender in Sikhi on April 25th, to read more!

@tggsproject is pleased to launch the annotation of five separate Sabads (compositions) on the theme of the Amrit (Initiation) Ceremony.
Amrit Ceremony is a fundamental and an essential rite for a seeker to join the Khalsa Panth. Through this the seeker is given ‘amrit’ and the core principles and values of Sikhi are explained to them. It is a unique and meaningful life-changing experience for the seeker.

"The initiation rites or ceremonies without a doctrine get reduced to mere meaningless rituals. Without the Nash doctrine, the Vaisakhi for the Sikhs can not be located as a transformative historical event. And it will not continue to be a revolutionary 1Force-1Ness paradigm to radically secure personal and public freedoms, from spiritual to political."

Today in #Sikh History:
Punjab and Sind Bank, the Sikh bank, was nationalized by the Government of India along with five other banks, effectively taking over its ownership.
The bank was established in Amritsar on 24 June 1908 by Bhai Vir Singh, Sir Sunder Singh Majitha, and Sardar Tarlochan Singh.

A brief on Jathedars of Akal Takht Sahib appointed by either SGPC or Sarbat Khalsa, their volatility and credibility, and a consistent interference by Sikh, Panjab, and Indian political parties. A crisis continues. Guru-granted Sikh governance model for 2023 realities needed!
Excited to announce that PDL turns 20 on April 14th, 2023! Grateful to our team, volunteers & community for their support. Over 2 decades, we've preserved & promoted Panjab's heritage through digitization. Here's to many more years of #PreservingPanjabHeritage! #PDLTurns20

As tensions in Punjab escalate and human rights abuses continue unchecked, it's been troubling to see how one-sided the reporting has been. In my latest for @TIME, I challenge the standard state narrative and suggest journalists can and must do better.

Our landing page has the five-step process on how to get to #sarbatkhalsa it requires a lot of developmental work (years in our view) and support on a grand Panthic scale that will take for the Khalsa to do justice to it
