@Swilua Husband and I made a reference to it with our son last month who was then confused. Realized he was on his mission when it happened so had no idea. Brought so much joy to explain and send him clips. 😂
"One of the criticisms I've faced over the years is that I'm not aggressive enough or assertive enough, or maybe somehow, because I'm empathetic, it means I'm weak. I totally rebel against that. I refuse to believe that you cannot be both compassionate & strong." Jacinda Ardern
@calvinjburke In EQ if my dad was asked to choose a favourite hymn, he always picked this one regardless of the month. He died of mesothelioma in 2008, and now it always reminds me of him.
@Swilua Yes, the Gift List app is amazing. The number of gifts might be off by one or two, but the dollar amount I get to within about $5 for each kid.
@liminal_lds @j_n_foster @mermitling Yes, not banned in U.S. only in Canada and only recently. I helped lead two marches in Canada and fought with others to have it banned here. My dad died of meso in 2008. It's excruciatingly painful and then they die by suffocation.
I was sexually assaulted when I was 16.
this summer, @PenguinRandomCA published a memoir by one of my assailants claiming my rape was consensual.
now I'm ready to share my story:

I have worked alongside the Red Cross in war, extreme privation, famine, and epidemic disease in far-flung nations but I never thought a renowned Canadian pediatric hospital would need them. It’s a very sad development in Ontario.
My mom invited us to attend their ward today since my dad was giving a talk. My husband insisted we go to support. We sat on the row in front of my mom because her row was full when we got there. When my dad started to speak my husband reached back to hold my mom's hand.
"Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets."
Amos 3:7 (KJV)
I remember being required to memorize this as a Latter-day Saint seminary student and again later as a missionary. I wish Amos 7 got as much attention. A thread. 1/
The mood in liberated Kherson:
“We have heating, no electricity, no water, no mobile or internet connection, but NO RUSSIANS! I am extremely happy because now we are free.”
The amazing @DrSamiraJeimy and I collaborated on a post because we are both tired of seeing the term ‘immunity debt’ being thrown around.
We also get into why we are seeing a record number of pediatric hospitalizations, so stick with us.
