Cable TV is supposed to give good images and no static. But Comcast/Xfinity in Falmouth MA is sending out this crap. They must lose their franchise!

For the old folks at #AAS244, the map is wrong when it says the Wisconsin room is the 40+E lounge. The actual 40+E lounge is the Dane room. And it's nicer anyway.

[Ned Wright @Mapping3k]

I'm at
#AAS244
and will give a talk on Tuesday, 219.02, about the coldest known brown dwarf, W0855-0714. This "star" is cooler than room temperature. With 23 epochs from WISE & NEOWISE the W1 flux can be estimated giving a W1-W2 color of ~5.6! 🔭

[Ned Wright @Mapping3k]

@villafal_ Congratulations!

[Ned Wright @Mapping3k]

@ABC7 I can't imagine anything dumber than watching the NFL draft.

[Ned Wright @Mapping3k]

@SpaceflightNow What is the launch azimuth?
Or the planned inclination?

[Ned Wright @Mapping3k]

Earliest sunset of 2023 in LA.
More Northern latitudes still have more days before the evenings get less dark.

[Ned Wright @Mapping3k]

@beesolved Definitely a glitch:
The iPhone app had 43 words and 249 points in its wordlist, while the web browser version had 42 words and 242 points. The difference is the 7 letter "ha" word.
The hints page has been updated with a note.

Dear @MayorOfLA, stop the emergency phone broadcasts! I have received 4 today, very noisy, and only the first was warranted. Unless you stop until there is new information, I will turn them off.

ISS just raised its orbit 1 km to avoid space debris, so it is now only ~3 weeks to the time ISS and WISE are at the same elevation. WISE is dropping ~5 km/month due to atmospheric drag.

This morning I saw Tiangong, the Chinese space station, at mag -2, and I didn't even have to get up superearly, thanks to DST making sunrise so late.

[Ned Wright @Mapping3k]

@RachelTobac Got me in LA. I have my phone set to Do Not Disturb at night except for a few apps, but I may have to take MyShake off the allowed list.

[Ned Wright @Mapping3k]

@NASA godspeed, Psyche

[Ned Wright @Mapping3k]

@EthanVishniac Usually the pdf. I can search the pdf and also copy and paste from it, tho these might be easier in the html.
Occasionally the html to get links to full data tables.

I am finally getting a chance to watch @UCLAFootball this year since the @SDSU game is on @CBS instead of ESPN, which is blacked out by the @Disney-@Spectrum pissing match.

[Ned Wright @Mapping3k]

@HeyAmyHugg Too bad I couldn't watch since @SpectrumCable is still in a pissing match with @Disney.

[Ned Wright @Mapping3k]

@natemccrady @latimes Nate! Actually late on Saturday, post deadline. But the @latimes has surely shrunk. Also this Spectrum vs Disney battle is very annoying, and ESPN lost a bunch of viewers in LA.

[Ned Wright @Mapping3k]

if @UCLAFootball plays a game but #Spectrum doesn't carry it, does it really count?
My newspaper just got delivered so I can find out.

[Ned Wright @Mapping3k]

@RoseBowlStadium @UCLAFootball For Spectrum cable costumers, how can we watch the game?
