Remember, you don't just pay income tax and national insurance, you also pay VAT, fuel, tobacco and alcohol duty with your already-taxed income.

So, somewhere around 50% of your time spent working to earn money is just to pay the government.

They then take 24% of that and spend in on "Other."

So you work roughly an hour a day, or 220 hours a year to pay for "Other."
