@PolitlcsUK Surely the long term answer is that legislation is written to delegate such responsibility to a standards committee (cross house + perhaps judiciary) or similar, and their decisions ratified by the PM as opposed to costly legislation each time this situation comes along.
@NeilForPoole The highest tax burden in a long time is not good enough, this government wants to go after individuals saving for their future through a pension. Give us a break.
@CairtersSMFC@StephenFlynnSNP With a tournament on a different continent - really? FIFA are saying we’ll give you a ticket if you get thru and if not your money back. What’s the issue? If you’re going, you’re going regardless. Doesn’t change the flights/hotel situation.
@RoryStewartUK@campbellclaret if nobody else is caring about energy (China, India, etc) why should the people of the UK take the brunt of the cost. It’s an issue, but we can’t solve ourselves. Focus on growing gdp and following that we’ve got the funds to sort the climate issue out.
@campbellclaret on your podcast you said that the negative poll was anti politics. It’s the polar opposite: people aren’t happy, and want structural reform. ££ matters, and this government offers nothing and so no wonder. How do we sort it?
@RoryStewartUK Talking about £500k here or there, who cares. Drive a strategy to get jobs and investment into the country and the personal tax solves itself
@British_Airways@AmericanAir how can I speak to somebody that can actually help me and not just bounce me back and forth due to your multiple cancelled flights meaning I’m now stuck in Cincinnati?
The Post Office scandal yet again shows why politics is broken. Aside from a few politicians who supported these postmasters before, the reaction of these MPs being so incredulous now is reprehensible. Why now? A main stream TV drama. Those affected must see through this too.
I’m currently on Day 84 of becoming the first person ever to run the entire length of Africa.
Made it through deserts, mountains, jungle. Pissed blood. Food poisoning. Recently got robbed at gunpoint. Still got over 11,000km & 13 countries to go.
This is my progress on the map.
Your support would be a game changer🫡
@Ed_Miliband How much profit is generated directly from UK assets by these companies? Stop looking for headlines. What is the consequence of them moving their HQ outside the UK? Why always talk about tax and not investment - after all, it’s the latter that drives growth? Be progressive.
@British_Airways I have a booking to San Juan at the end of January, flying London to Chicago to San Juan - all booked through BA but on American flights. I can select seats for all legs but Chicago to San Juan, please can you let me know why? Thanks!
