👏 Permanent Daylight Saving Time will be repealed in Morocco! The United States also tried and repealed it in the 1970s. Permanent Standard Time instead is the clock that lasts, for health and safety. 👉 Stop the Sunshine Protection Act, tell your senators!
Make Standard Time permanent.
Permanent DST was tried in 1974 and it failed. I am fine with the sun “rising” early in the morning. Blackout curtains are a thing lazy people forget exist.
Then, while y’all are at it, pass a balanced budget and quit racking up the debt.
The push for permanent Daylight Saving Time isn't being driven primarily by chronobiologists or sleep experts. Historically, its strongest supporters have been industries that benefit from people staying out later in the evening: golf courses, outdoor recreation, sports leagues, amusement parks, barbecue and grill manufacturers, convenience stores, retail businesses, and some hospitality and tourism groups. More evening daylight can increase consumer spending—but what's good for commerce isn't necessarily what's best for public health. The scientific consensus from major sleep and circadian organizations continues to favor permanent Standard Time as the healthier choice for human biology.
DEBUNKED: The American Farm Bureau’s Director of Communications has written permanent Daylight Saving Time is worst for farmers (because it darkens mornings to 9am), permanent Standard Time is best. https://t.co/tTnmf8H9dB
DEBUNKED: National Safety Council, National Sleep Foundation, and dozens more oppose permanent DST and endorse permanent Standard Time. Permanent DST’s 9am sunrises and chronic sleep deprivation dramatically increase fatal crashes:
“We found a very clear pattern. People in time zones that don’t have enough sun in the morning die [in automobile accidents] at higher rates, more than 20%, which is mind-boggling.” —Jeff Gentry PhD, Eastern New Mexico University

I am not a political person. The scientific community and the data and evidence overwhelmingly shows that morning sunlight is imperative for good health.
There are Republicans and Democrats both on the right side of this as seen by legislation just introduced - bipartisan calling for permanent standard time. But there are also Republicans and Democrats on the wrong side of this issue that because of either intellectual laziness or willful ignorance have voted for a bill that will remove morning sunlight for hundreds of millions of people that they are financially medically responsible for, and it will increase the risk of diabetes and cardiovascular disease as well as certain types of cancers that we have evidence for.
I am a boarded Sleep specialist, which means that I am an expert in this field.
This is not my opinion, but the position of thousands of professionals who understand the circadian rhythm and the tremendous impact that this will have hundreds of millions of people in the United States.
It is completely untenable that the supreme governing body of our country would make a decision about this without weighing the evidence.
Making standard time permanent is literally the lowest hanging fruit that we could decide to improve the health of our country. Instead, we have politicians going on this platform to boast that they gave more sunlight to their constituents. As if the stroke of their mighty pen could add one second to the amount of sunlight that comes from the sun.
Complete ignorance.
@GuntherEagleman Springing forward is NOT common sense! We need to ELIMINATE Daylight Saving Time, not extend it. Tell Congress NO on the Sunshine Protection Act, restore permanent Standard Time: https://t.co/V84QSXmYLb
@HouseGOP@VernBuchanan This Republican wants Permanent Daylight*Standard* Time, not Savings. Keep Daylight Standard Time year round (& make exceptions for those states that want savings if you must for a compromise).
@KevinKileyCA I will miss the penny (would rather keep it) but I get that it costs a lot to produce. But we need to go to permanent Daylight Standard Time, not Savings. We already tried it and it didn't work. My body prefers Standard Time.
Rules Committee advanced HR139 Sunshine Protection Act (permanent Daylight Saving Time mandate and repeal of exemption). Tell your reps to oppose and sponsor HR9638 Sunshine for Our Kids Act (permanent Standard Time restoration with expansion of exemption)! https://t.co/zpWXnpyJff
@BuzzPatterson My body hates Daylight Savings Time. It's such a relief to go back to "normal" standard time. And we already tried this in the 70s and had to go back. We should just get rid of Daylight Savings Time and keep Daylight Standard Time.
Dear World Cup Guests,
Thank you for sharing your experiences with us online, we are so happy you're here, getting to see all the different parts of America and meeting new friends.
I would however on behalf of all of us normal, kind, hard working and helpful Americans, like to apologize for the few who insist on trying to rain on your joy in the comments and replies. We know they're annoying and ridiculous, just ignore them. They're miserable fun suckers and usually beyond help.
The vast majority of us are having a blast traveling around the country with you! If we can help in anyway please don't hesitate to ask!
Keep eating, drinking, singing and chanting!
Love,
All 50 of the United States 🇺🇸
If you’re visiting for a very large sporting event & you happen to discover RANCH while you’re here… pls pack it in your CHECKED BAG on the way home.
Thank you.
A small public service announcement from the Department of Things That You Should Know…
It has not “peeked” your interest.
Nor has it “peaked” your interest.
…It has piqued your interest.
You are not “phased” by something.
You are fazed by it.
If you’ve had a long day, you are weary.
If you suspect someone is an idiot, you are wary.
It is “due course”, not “do course”.
“Per se”, not “per say”.
And while we’re here, it’s “could have”, not “could of”, but that particular battle may already be lost.
Thank you for your attention during this brief outbreak of grammatical housekeeping.
This has been a @LairdofthManor announcement.🎩💙
@CynicalPublius For Breakfast I prefer Chick-Fil-A and getting the chicken minis. (The chicken bites + egg burrito is good too with the jalapeno salsa. I'm not huge on spice but that salsa on the burrito is good. I just get my hashbrow bites on the side cause of texture/preference.)
