@TaeSweizy That's huge at 4. It usually means books already feel like fun at home, not a chore, and that matters even more than the level. Enjoy it, from one dad to another.
@miss_she_du Sitting in that chair yourself is such a good move. Ours can't stand loud noises, so this one hits home: what looks like fussing from the outside is very often real discomfort.
@RiverrrSongs "It's ok" sounds kind but it cancels the lesson right when it matters. Manners come from a hundred small calm corrections like yours. Keep going.
@Sandraify6 Shame is such a bad reason to skip a year. A child who feels at ease in their class learns way more than one who spends every day running to catch up.
@SandyofCthulhu Little kids write horror without even trying. In our house the big bad wolves drive cars now and nobody can explain why. But "the mouth of the world, and it was eating" is on another level.
@selentelechia A smooth pocket pebble is top tier currency at that age. 3 to 6 is such a good window: they can finally tell you what's going on in their heads, and they still want you there for all of it.
@evancharles Ballet at 3 is the best show in town. Half the class follows the teacher, the other half waves at the parents, and everyone takes it extremely seriously.
@theon_of_ai That sentence is gold. Ours is 3 and used to shut down after two wrong answers in a row, so the little game I built for her now says that getting it wrong is part of the path, and you try again. A child naming the feeling out loud is half the battle.
@LauraPowellEsq That's the frustrating part: you do the hard work at home and the algorithm gets them at school. A short curated playlist instead of open YouTube would fix most of it, and it costs a teacher five minutes.
@loveHyunChanBin Your Wrapped belongs to the 4 year old now, that's just how it works. Ours is 3 and it's Brazilian phonk and Michael Jackson in our house, so KPop Demon Hunters sounds like a pretty good deal.
@Ijesha_canadian Glad it helps! The first time a word gets read to you unprompted, off a cereal box or a road sign, is a moment you won't forget. Enjoy it.
@BoomerXBT The unprompted ones hit different. No reason, no request attached, just mid-play. Write that one down somewhere, it's the kind you'll want to reread in ten years.
