Relational Capital founder @MariaDavidson explains why the gap between frontier AI labs and construction sites is creating a massive opportunity for startups:

"The most important thing to me is always the founder. Do they have a unique insight that other people don’t have about distribution, about the market, about the way to win. Building a company has never been easier, and so it is actually so much more competitive than it was even 10 years ago."

"One of the areas that I love is investing in these really gritty, operationally heavy industries. As I look at SF and the insane progress we’re making on the frontier lab side, and then I think about my experience of spending a lot of the last eight years on job sites, the gap between those two is huge."

"Closing that diffusion gap requires an enormous amount of new companies to really be operationally excellent."
