79% of researchers in science studies claim that their policy impact has increased in the last 10 years... but there are still many barriers ! Let's move on toward concrete initiatives to overcome them... Many thanks to all participants to @Euspri_Forum SAB meeting and survey !
Pleased to present our paper about research utilization in policy at #EUSPRI2022. First in-person conference, great discussions in the session. Excited about the afternoon sessions of Track 1 "The role of #science for #policy"
#EUSPRI2021 has started! Following great presentations and discussions in the first two sessions of TRACK 1. Organised by @LSanzMenendez, Laura Cruz, Adelheid Holl, Ruth Rama, @ximo_azagra, @MariaKaraulova and me! Check https://t.co/3DY3Nj7Dmq
Just finished a productive 2-day consortium workshop, to be followed up by a writing retreat next week. Thanks for all the interesting presentations and dicussions!
Universities: when telling staff what to do more of and better, please also explain what we can do less of or less well. Otherwise already overworked people already trying our best will feel demoralised and 'failure' becomes structurally inevitable.
Personally, I benefited greatly from co-designing the project with @drbrainbugz and thinking about what interests me academically, but also how the findings can be useful for @POST_UK. It was eye-opening for me to be exposed to the ways of working and thinking of the policy world
I handed in my pass yesterday, and now my academic fellowship at @POST_UK is over, only the papers remain to be written. Thank you so much everyone for opening your doors and letting me research you. Especially thank you @drbrainbugz for many amazing conversations. More below
My fellowship project was about the use, impact and success of POSTnotes - flagship research briefings of POST. I found the various notions of impact and role, and also the crucial role of alignment of the research and information groups in delivering science to parliamentarians
