Freud’s greatest blasphemy, was saying, “Not all men are worthy of love.” No, they are not, because love has never depended on worthiness, it begins precisely where worth ends, among cripples and prostitutes, at the heart of those who have nothing.
@shaneparrish In case there's any doubt left about how current success standards favor psychopathic behaviour and are just a playground for those who are actual psychopaths.
false humility is an incredibly repellent trait and a surefire way to make self-respecting people distrust you. i'd rather deal with shameless arrogance than that sanctimonious nonsense any day
@orangebook Maybe, but you know, it's impossible to know if the people who have trascended were driven by one or the other or if those are really at odds. If Dalí of Hemingway were driven by insecurities or by core values (or any mixture of both) makes no difference in what they achieved.
@LizzyStarrrdust Actually, I've been subject to this kind of intervention by some female friend without any signaling from my part a couple of times. And yeah, they happen to be fat.
@Hadrio_Official@webdevMason Well, the classical conception of philosophy is oriented towards the art of living/building a good life, so it does have a lot to do with "making reality work for you".
@Cyrushshirazi Then we're admitting even smart men aren't that smart at all, because (most) women wouldn't indulge in that while in the same position, nor in their supposed "gender" counterparts.
