@Type1Tony Absolute nightmare. Those medical essentials are absolutely ESSENTIAL! Please let us know if you have managed to sort insulin / sensors / pumps ๐
If you are anywhere near any of us then Iโm sure we would all do what we can to help.
There exists NO gap based on ethnicity and deprivation as regards access to Continuous Glucose Monitors in #T1Diabetes@NHSEngland
The subsequent roll out of Hybrid Closed Loop in #T1D has continued to follow the same trend- appropriately using money for 1st 2 years in a 5 year implementation plan.
Implementation of a @NICEComms TA - at scale- tackling gaps
With money ring fenced for next 3 years to enable further uptake across eligible population
And improvement in health outcomes at a population level as per national audits
I repeat- it can be done. Within this #NHS
Yet- most are not willing to do the hard yards needed to make it happen.
And are too busy compromising in the quest for some 'bigger picture'

Doody, can't believe it's been 20 years since you've been gone! Not a day goes by that I don't think about you in some way shape or formโฆYou were and are still truly one of the greatest friends I ever had in my entire life and I thank God everyday that he put us in each other's lives.. I feel like that happened for a reason. Ever since the day I met you sitting on the steps of Osborne when I was handing out flyers and we rapped for each other and instantly bonded that day and never looked back!! My life would never have taken the trajectory it took had I not met you. Thank you for always believing in me like I always believed in you!! We had such an amazing ride together and I will never forget you and what you did for me and my self-esteem and confidence every time you cosigned for me at every club and open mic we ever went to!! Your credibility was enough to open people's minds to not judge me until they heard me and you were one of the first ones who got people to listen before they passed any judgment!! I love you doody you will always be my best friend no matter how much time passes and I will never forget you as long as I live!!! Until we meet again my friend I love you doody!!! Love, doody
Today?
As a community in the world of #T1Diabetes - we take a moment to pause for @triggersbroom17 (John and Emma Story)
It should have been a day of celebration - the 3rd birthday of Lyla
It isn't- and a collective hug from us all.
And a promise to keep working and ensuring we make things better- and prevent such a heart breaking tragedy
And urging @NHSEngland to take this with the seriousness it deserves -and giving it the utmost priority- and leadership attention it deserves.
Happy heavenly birthday Lyla x ๐ข
