@cagiago_ Argentina topped their group while Portugal did not.
Has they topped their group, their knockout games so.far would have been Ghana and then Switzerland.
@Unclerico9806@UTDKarra Portugal scored in extra time, after which a Portugal fan decided to run onto the pitch. That is most likely why the fed extended the extra time.
@smyyguy Been saying it for years, lines should be drawn at feet only. If an attacker gets into a position like Ronaldo here they shouldn't be penalized, he should be rewarded.
@evrx95@FabrizioRomaxno You eventually have to beat the best to win the world cup. You are fooling yourself if you think it works any other way. Whoever wins the competition is the champions and will be the deserving champions.
@evrx95@FabrizioRomaxno Not necessarily. Do you truly believe Ecuador will make it to the world cup final?? Because I. Certainly don't. The cream always rises to the top and no matter how you think it may go, the best team in the world will win the world cup.
@nonsensical912@jonmorosi I totally agree with you and prior to VAR this is pretty much how football was. But since introduction of VAR the game has become microanalysed and shit like this happens all the time, and rarely overturned because there's a bulshit law they can use to backup the decision.
@rollin_fatty@KVanValkenburg Studs down on opponents ankle. Intentional or not it's unfortunately a red card. I don't agree with it but it is what it is.
@icobeast Your not considering how unattractive the game would be if the defense just parked in the box all game. Offside wasn't always a rule, it was introduced for this very reason. But I'll agree, it could do with some improvements.
@signulll I agree somewhat. I believe we should only be drawing lines from the players feet. It's bulshit that a player's chest/shoulder or knee is taken into consideration. It should be the furthest foot forward.
@BenVolin Offside rule needs some work for sure but it is needed. Life was better when it was the linesmans call. Sometimes he got it right and sometimes he got it wrong.
VAR has totally destroyed football and the offside rule has now become so analytical it ruins the game.
@DavidCBets Been watching USA and they've been really impressive as a team. Fancy you to beat Belgium, but the quarter finals is where shit gets real and I just don't see you guys getting past it. Not trying to be mean but the big teams start to lock in from the quarters onwards.
@JayzTwoCents I was just getting ready to respond but then you mentioned hockey. To be fair to you, as a European, hockey is the only North American sport I truly respect because it's got everything you could ever want from a sport so I see your point and I accept it.
@Robev19@FabrizioRomaxno Bulshit. Every team plays similar minutes and there's no easy ride. By that logic, Arsenal should have won the champions league.
