@c_dodson_thatch My dad was sent copies of these photos by Rachel Easter. I believe they were taken by Rachel’s dad. Rachel is a member of the FB group ‘Chatteris Cambs discussion page’ if you wanted to message her.
Former District Nurse Doris Russell passed away in August at the age of 100. She delivered many Chatteris babies, including my sister.
Funeral service at Chatteris Parish Church on 18 Sept at 1:30.
She was a junior nurse in London during the war.

UPDATE: Looks like there’s a completely different robert prevost, who also did math in undergrad and then went on to pursue graduate studies in theology.
it’s like WHAT ARE THE ODDS?!
@JoannaRTaylor While a doubt Chatteris will get a new pool, it definitely needs one.
The privately-owned Empress Pool has been closed for nearly a year, and while there hasn’t been any announcement seems unlikely to reopen.
@kitson@doctorow@GlennF@pomeranian99 Not COBOL, but ISO 8601. 1875 is the year the Metre Convention was signed, so I assume they decided that was an important enough date in terms of international standards to use.
Planning Application (F/YR24/0562/F), where developer felled trees but did not initially declare the 'degradation' under BNG legislation, is up for consideration by FDC on Wednesday.

@oldenoughtosay Small market town; most the High St. listed. Many small shops ‘abandoned’ due to renovation/conversion costs. Owners get LBC, but cost of work just too high. I agree with LBC, but it has resulted in town centre with decay frontage of empty shops.
@oldenoughtosay England. Manual.
Handbrake when stationary for a few secs (there are exceptions).
Foot left on brake only when brake lights needed as warning, and never at night when stopped vehicle behind (don’t blind them).
@johnelworthy Nitpick on Cllr Boden's claim the Chatteris site has been 'granted permission'; planning committee *approved* the application over a year ago, but the Decision Notice hasn't been published.
So not (yet) *granted*. (Same for Wenny Meadow, approved but still no Notice.)
A short, crude, animation of the major housing developments in Chatteris - both approved and pending permission.
'Major' is a development with 10 or more dwellings. There are many more minor and backfills.
Soon there be no green spaces left.
