We thank the editors @NatureComms for featuring our paper, "Campylobacter vaccination reduces diarrheal disease and infant growth stunting among rhesus macaques" on Editors’ Highlights, showcasing the 50 top papers in “Microbiology and infectious diseases” https://t.co/xfQ3Okxln8
Gotta keep science, based on science. Multiple peer-reviewed studies performed in multiple countries examining >10 million children prove there is no link between vaccines and autism. The answer is clear
“RFK Jr.’s performance did not appear to assure Cassidy, who laid out a possible rationale for rejecting the nominee’s confirmation” https://t.co/2LkYGYGVik
For some pathogens to break through, the country’s immunization rates may need to slip quite a bit. But for others, the gap between no outbreak and outbreak is uncomfortably small, @katherinejwu reports: https://t.co/FaaGJi2p1W
New rule:
ANYONE that uses the word toxic about a substance or exposure must include at which dose and route of exposure and whether that applies to humans.
Yes -every media outlet - I am looking at you too.
Example:
water is TOXIC if you drink 5.2 liters at once.
Offit @DrPaulOffit knows his stuff. It may be hard to spread the word without being throttled, but we need to follow the science and not the pseudoscience. The scientific community will need to step up to help explain how these things work
This will be the first of 6 essays I wrote about RFK Jr. In this first piece, I describe a conversation I had with him about 20 years ago, which marked the beginning of his anti-vaccine activism. Is this the man we want to be in charge of our health?

RFK Jr’s nomination is the repudiation of a century of unprecedented and miraculous progress in public health.
We take it for granted because we don’t recognize how far we’ve come.

From a historical paper I read today: "vaccination had controlled smallpox reasonably well during the first one-third of the century; however, during the period of the Jacksonian Democracy, laissez-faire doctrine prevailed and in 1837 the vaccination laws were repealed (1/3).
I met with Bobby Kennedy for over two hours and he was the opposite of what the media portrays. Sunlight is the best disinfectant — he wants to study the full data (not what the NIH decides to put out) and let the American people decide.
