WHEN WE FIGHT, WE WIN: We are excited to announce that we have a tentative agreement with @condenast on our first contract. Our pledge to do ‘whatever it takes’ ahead of the #metgala2024 moved the company and our progress at the bargaining table kicked into high gear…
WE HAVE A CONTRACT! After more than two long years of negotiating, we’re proud to share that our unit ratified our first contract yesterday that will cover us for three years.
Some details:
We now have book writing rights and a share in any production rights should our work be turned into something like a film or a podcast series.
And management can’t displace our unit with permalancers.
Breaking: After three years of organizing, we've done it.
The Digital Media United bargaining committee is pleased to announce we have a tentative agreement ready for ratification vote! ✊🏿✊🏽✊🏻
We recently had 4 bargaining sessions in 2 weeks. We made some progress in those sessions, but we’re feeling a real lack of urgency across the table. Management has said they’re interested in wrapping things up and we need them to start acting like it.
This week we protested @nytimes execs’ attempt to unlawfully require us to work onsite in the NYT offices. NYT cannot change our working conditions without bargaining with us first.
We're the first Mississippi-based news organization to unionize!!!!!
I'm so proud of my coworkers for coming together and beyond stoked that we got voluntary recognition. This is no small feat in the South!
Today @cesarconde_ is delivering his @NBCNews Chairman’s Update, and we have no doubt he’s going to ignore the three years of union busting he and @NBCNews management have engaged in. So, we thought we’d let New York City know what they've been up to!
Hello. ProPublica has unionized. We are a wall-to-wall union of reporters, editors, business and communications staff across the nation who are dedicated to investigative journalism in the public interest. https://t.co/d9IX81DXmA
I spent the weekend helping organize this hardship fund for people in the union who can't afford to have a day's pay docked. (We're journalists; there are a lot.) If you can help kick in, it's appreciated. https://t.co/29hOeqaVj5
🔥 WE’RE WALKING OUT! 🔥
At 9AM tomorrow, join the Insider Union’s picket line across from Zuccotti Park! We’ll have music, solidarity, and enough chanting to make your ears ring!
Insider management is threatening to lay off 60 unit members. Help us fight against bad bosses!
