Medical Helicopter crashes on HWY 50 in Sacramento shortly after taking off from the helipad from UC Davis.

The aircraft started losing altitude close to 500 ft above ground level. ADS-B Data shows the helicopter was losing altitude at a rate exceeding 2,600 ft per minute moments before impact.

This pilot had less than a minute, perhaps 30 seconds between losing thrust to impact.

UPDATE: BCSO says it doesn't appear the adult male shooting suspect had any connections to the school. This is a K-8 Christian School -- according to website only 33 students, 5 teachers (including principal who is one of the teachers)
