🚩 Navigation Notice 🚩

Multiple navigational locks on Lake Okeechobee's north shore will temporarily close at the end of their operating hours tomorrow, Tuesday, April 21, 2026. As the lake continues to recede, these locks are closing for safety purposes.

The water level in Lake Okeechobee dropped below 12 feet NGVD or 10.70 feet NAVD and the following locks will be completely closed to navigation 24 hours a day / 7 days a week until specific water levels are met.

▪️ S-135 Boat Lock at the J&S Fish Camp in Martin County will close at 8:30 p.m. on April 21, 2026.
▪️ G-36 Boat Lock on Henry Creek in Okeechobee County will close at 8:00 p.m. on April 21, 2026.
▪️ S-127 Boat Lock at Buckhead Ridge in Glades County will close at 8:00 p.m. on April 21, 2026.
▪️ S-131 Boat Lock in Lakeport in Glades County will close at 8:00 p.m. on April 21, 2026.

A new concrete pipe under Midway Road in St. Lucie County will help move stormwater safely to a nearby culvert and pond. This system helps prevent flooding, filters runoff, and keeps local waterways and wildlife habitats healthy. 🌿🌧️

🚧 Progress is being made on the State Road 5/U.S. 1 Earman River Bridge Replacement Project in North Palm Beach. Crews are installing a large support beam (called a pile) on the east side of the bridge. This helps make the bridge stronger and more stable for years to come. 🌉
