How do I work while traveling?
Usually "old school", laptop in a nice coffee shop. But currently I'm in Portugal, traveling with friends, enjoying weather (though it's quite windy now) and I took my laptop on a road trip but it was so impractical.
So I tried to keep it at home and connected to Codex remotely from my phone. I was quite amazed how well that worked and I managed to ship features, resolve problems.
I still prefer using VPS (Hetzner) for remote work from my phone. I have excellent setup there! But it's more experimental setup.
For work for my client I'm still more involved in the loop and most of related setup is still on my macbook. Codex managed that very well, though.
One of my friends that I travel with is UI/UX designer and we recently shipped new web app (https://t.co/AWCmhkNVQl). We were discussing it, he proposed few changes and I said "no problem, I just do it from my phone". I opened telegram, instructed Hermes Agent in 2 sentences of what I want to do and in few minutes it was done. My friend couldn't believe it. He's quite technical person but this is cutting-edge stuff that requires trial and error to get it working properly. But when it does it's real superpower.
Oh, it wasn't directly pushed to production, don't worry. I'm not stupid. When he does what I ask for, he creates pull request and that app version is automatically deployed to Dokploy under `{repo-name}-pr-{n}.martinmachava.com` so I can smoke test it and when it looks good, merge it and only then it's deployed to prod.
Besides coding and shipping Hermes also does for me:
- weekly check of received invoices in my mail box and if they satisfy criteria, he transcribes them to my invoicing software (from pdf)
- daily checks production logs and sends me report. If there are serious issues, he proposes fix in a pull request
- 2x/w checks for job opportunities that suits me in US (though I'm in EU)
I updated my personal page, https://t.co/vgFCt0ilok
I know it's not perfect and I'm looking for constructive criticism.
I shared it on LinkedIn. No fricking single engagement!
I know LI is cursed, but there's 10:1 ration of recruiters to the recuitees (that's not a real word, is it?) so if I ask for an advice or opinion on my CV site, I'd expect at least some reactions to it.
Anyway, what do you think?
I never write about hype stuff to only get engagement but man... Hermes Agent is a game changer for me.
I rented another VPS only to play with Claw-like agents and Hermes is next level. Using GPT-5.5 it feels very good to write with it and I didn't even mention productivity.
It got now access to all my stuff. It can set up anything I need. I control it solely via Telegram.
I know I'm late to the party but this is evolving so great!
Oh, it's using GBrain to sleep about the day and form memory of important stuff (it also does that on the fly when it feels like it). It also creates specific skills when it feels like it will be helpful in the future.
So happy with it and i jump on this cloud AI agentic stuff only a week ago.
IDK about Google products... They seem really cool but often are just unusable.
In @GoogleAIStudio I did 1 successful prompt and the following one just fails... It's trying, it's going for few minutes gathering information it needs but it just fails
How the main gemini products, that they promote and want us to use them, are so unreliable?
Gemini's Deep Research copy feature is SO BAD!
You want to copy the response, ideally in markdown format. But there's only this option "Copy contents" and when you do, you get everything in SINGLE LINE!
No formatting, no new lines.
The best Copy feature I've seen across AI chats is from Grok. You click Copy and you can choose between plain text or markdown.
(that's why I copied it to my product)
I didn't share my latest project here because the audience is Czech Republic
But Building in Public community is not limited to only world-wide projects, right?
My friend who's UX/UI designer and good with SEO spotted opportunity in Czech search for license plate configurator. So we built it to fill that gap and organic growth is crazy.
Domain itself (https://t.co/AWCmhkNVQl) ensured our web app is in first page on google search.
Competition is very low in this segment. So we made a web app that's beautiful and easy to use. Feel free to judge yourself and any constructive criticism is welcome
damn... Today I was testing new browser extension release with backward compatibility to older backend as well as latest one on staging, then older extension version (for late updaters) agains both backends - all that to ensure everything is working and compatible before rollout. And I have just couple of users. Then trillion dollar company just ships and breaks their main product for thousands of users. Unbalievable in what universe we live in
Claude sub can be used only in Claude Code which Anthropic pays to develop and maintain, while there's OpenCode which is more efficient and doesn't cost Anthropic anything?
They could just support OC and save money?
Is the case that OC is open source why Anthropic is holding back on it? Lack of control? Or the fact that OC doesn't supports Anthropic models exclusively?
Waiting for AI to finish feature you are vibe coding?
Do this in the meantime.
Take less than 2 minutes for 100 reps.
You back and posture will thank you later.
currently all AIs just do fake-it-till-you-make-it job.
They don't account for all various edge-cases that can happen and, so far, it's on us to find them and steer models that way.
I wonder which AI company will be the first to train their models to cover all edge-cases alongside the main feature.
