I've now got a minimal install going into an empty space on my Mac (can reinstall next to my existing Omarchy Mac install and set up an additional grub entry). Encryption coming next then a full install, then hopefully a complete end to end install starting from MacOS.

What happened?

During a short window in the v4.0 development cycle, the migration (introduced by @SFreiburg ) that removes the Asahi Alarm bootstrap account (named ‘alarm’) from the wheel group was missing.

On affected installations, alarm could remain an administrator even after the system had been handed over to the actual user. This could cause polkit authentication to select the alarm account instead of the system owner.

v4.0.1-1 adds a safe migration to clean this up on affected systems.

It also fixes our Mac package release handling so Mac-specific hotfixes can be shipped as package rebuilds without conflicting with upstream Omarchy versions.

Making Omarchy run on M1 and M2 macs is already possible with some elbow grease and a few caveats, but soon we'll make it just as smooth (or as near can be!) as installing it on x86. We can fix everything!
