SHE DID IT AGAIN!
Wisdom, the world’s oldest known wild bird, is back with a new partner and just laid yet another egg.
At an approximate age of 74, the queen of seabirds returned to Midway Atoll National Wildlife Refuge last week and began interacting with a male.
Wolverines are rare and elusive, which makes a few Calgary wildlife photographers fairly fortunate to have spotted one at a park near the city! @Aerin_J told @CTVBMacfarlane that we need to give the animal the connected spaces it needs to thrive. https://t.co/omtPkKAFl7
This is the most important work of my career & why I'm hopeful for the future
Southern mtn caribou are endangered & could be lost in our generation. Not accepting that fate, 2 First Nations began an ambitious recovery effort & did the impossible

Let's be clear what happened here:
1) Everyone with half a clue about offsets said this was a bad idea right from the start.
2) Lots of very smart people then had to sink a lot of time into trying to push back or at least make it less bad.

@optical_window@ixibigaka@TheEconomist Yes, and the space race gave us teflon and tang. Obviously not worth it. Just invest in work that makes ordinary people's lives better. Only the rich benefit from military spending.

@theklmanuel I was wrong. I looked 'behind the curtain' at the wordle and found what I think is the list of 2314 words that will be used. In that list; IRATE uses 3 most common consonants and 2 most common vowels. But, you are right, STARE is excellent because 15% of the words start with S.
@theklmanuel Wordle uses the 5 letters words subset (e.g. sgb-words.txt).
In 5 letter words, S at 11%, is by far the most common letter. R is next, 7% then, L 6%). They end in S 30% of the time but only start with S 13% of time.
E, A & O are the top vowels.
Best 1st words EARLS or ALOES
@tdubey@alexselby1770 I looked 'behind the curtain' on the wordle web page and found what I think is the list of 2314 words that will be used. In that list the letters are distributed such that IRATE is the best first word. Then LOUSY - Y is a very common last letter.
@skiingamok@alexselby1770 sgb-words.txt is the wrong list. I looked 'behind the curtain' on the wordle web page and found what I think is the list of 2314 words that will be used. In that list the letters are distributed such that IRATE is the best first word. Then LOUSY - Y is a very common last letter.
@skiingamok@alexselby1770 but choosing words based on the letter frequency in only 5 letter words is better.
I used sgb-words.txt to decide on EARLS (S is by far the most common ending letter in 5 letter words)
@EmilyKathen Ok - I was wrong. I looked 'behind the curtain' on the wordle web page and found what I think is the list of 2314 words that will be used. In that list the letters are distributed such that IRATE is the best first word. Then LOUSY - Y is a very common last letter.
@EmilyKathen I saw that guy too. He's wrong. He's talking about the entire language. Wordle uses 5 letter words (e.g. sgb-words.txt) where, S, is the most common letter, 11%. Then R, 7% then L 6%. They end S 30% of the time.
E, A & O are the top vowels.
