@MartinSLewis I paid into my daughter’s trust fund until she was 18 but didn’t pay into my sons. I told him we would pay the difference to him. When he received his trust fund it was almost the same value as my daughters.
@connorenglish21@WareNext@MartinSLewis That’s a narrow minded point of view. Sometimes people have no option but to work part time because they care for family members or raise their children. Sometimes it’s down to fate. If we were all directors who would empty the bins or care for the elderly?
@Fido2dogs@MartinSLewis Open university already does this although the choice of courses are limited. I think distance online learning for some courses is the way forward. We’ve gone backwards since lockdown. Universities missing a trick too because online learning means more capacity of students 🤑
@Cheryl_NN16@MartinSLewis I know people like you and wonder why they bother with Christmas at all. It’s like they only do because they feel obligated to. I’m absolutely all for spreading the cost over several months which means shops have to start selling Christmas items early.
@MartinSLewis Bought some in January and already wrapped. Also been saving since December for main gifts. Aim to write cards and have bought everything by end of October half term. Love Christmas, hate crowds and cold weather.
@RadioHumberside It’s not exactly the ’full story’ is it? You don’t say if they were in vehicles, on bicycles, pedestrian… a bit more information wouldn’t go amiss.
@KeepyCash@MartinSLewis Unfortunately the TikTok generation spend a fortune trying to outdo each other and post it online. A marriage should be for the right reasons and showing off for the benefit of others isn’t one of them. It needn’t be big or expensive.
@MartinSLewis How would this affect prenups? I’m happily married and don’t have one (for better for worse) but could just see this being exploited by some gold diggers.
@MrNickKnowles Unfortunately apprenticeships are like gold dust. Employers either won’t hire because of past experience with unreliable employees or can’t afford to. My son ended up doing A Levels because he couldn’t find a sponsor and now those sponsors say he’s too old and overqualified.
@NetflixUK please could you show in the listing when a program is dubbed? I really struggle to watch when the lips don’t match the voice to the point where I concentrate on that rather than the storyline 😢
@HumBridgeNews I tried that yesterday but it took too long for somebody to answer. I have topped up my account and will wait for you to fix the bug on the app.
@MartinSLewis My daughter and her partner only opened a LISA each (different providers) a few months ago to save for their first home. What should they do now, stick or switch?
@NStanberg@MartinSLewis Peer pressure. You get bullied on it, you get bullied if you don’t have it and it’s better to know what people are saying about you apparently. I know kids who became suicidal because of it.
@Sargesbackheel@otto_meta_@MartinSLewis Thank you. Last time I fixed I lost out because the supplier made me pay a set amount every month which was more than my usage and I had to wait until April to get the excess money back. It’s put me off fixing tbh because I need that money to live off. It’s no use in their bank.
@keith0066@MartinSLewis I kind of agree with her. I got fed up of having an orange juice and pizza but paying for a bottle of wine and starter too. It makes no sense to split the bill unless you’re the greedy one.
