There are women in there.
Real breathing, seeing, hearing, feeling women trapped inside these portable sensory deprivation chambers.
How is this different from torture?
The Association of Women Surgeons Ireland is open! Such fantastic work by @suzannemmurphy1 and team - bringing this to fruition while also studying/working/thriving in their early careers 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
One of the organizers @manus_carlisle - called it the ‘grave of international law’.
He thanked his fellow EU civil servants for attending and ‘standing up for the values this union was supposed to be built on.’

An Iranian woman, lashed 74 times for defying the hijab law, is now a hero to millions.
#Roya_Heshmati, a Kurdish woman, was punished with 74 lashes for protesting the mandatory hijab. Defiantly, she refused to wear it even during her punishment. Her story is echoing across Iranian social media.
During her ordeal, she sang powerfully: "In the name of women, in the name of life, the chains of slavery have been torn apart."
Roya epitomizes the brave women of #WomanLifeFreedom, determined to dismantle the Islamic regime of Iran and establish a Democratic Iran.

Next week will be the last State of the Union address by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
It's important that the European Green Deal, renewable energy and halting biodiversity loss remains high on the EU agenda for the crucial years to come. #SOTEU
❗️Happening now: 🇮🇹-authorities deliberately assign unreachable port of safety. With 72 guests on board, our #Aurora needs immediate permission to enter #Lampedusa as the closest port or permission for transshipment for all guests to a bigger ship.
The 'Morality Police' in Iran and their police cars symbolize the suppression of women. Lately, I've been receiving numerous photos of Iranian women boldly posing unveiled in front of these cars. It's clear: their phones and social media are proving more powerful than the oppressors' guns and bullets. #WomanLifeFreedom
