On the right, two people lie motionless, heads split open. On the left, three others: one is dead beside his bicycle, while the other two writhe in panic, their hands flailing in terror.

Inside the tent, once a simple charging station for phones, two people are still clinging to life.

What an Orwellian world we live in. Israel launches a clearly illegal and unprovoked attack on Iran, in violation of the U.N. charter, and with no imminent Iran attack in sight, or any Iranian nukes developed, and its western allies come out to say they reaffirm *Israel’s* right to defend itself, not Iran’s. The aggressor’s, not the victim of the illegal attack.
This, I guess, is the west’s ’rules-based international order.’

For the first time in over 20 years, Israel has deployed tanks in the West Bank, after expelling 40,000 Palestinians from refugee camps.

This is a prelude to full annexation, and makes a mockery of the ceasefire agreement that Israel continues to violate.

We are witnessing ethnic cleansing — and our government’s ongoing failure to defend international law is utterly, utterly shameful.

Palestinians are human beings who deserve self-determination.

That is why we will continue to demand economic sanctions, a full arms embargo, and the only path to peace: an end to the occupation of Palestine.
