Canadian living in Kobe and exporting cars. Riding a 2017 R NineT and 1998 DT230 Lanza. I like motorcycles, Japanese music, and general Y2K stuff. 日本語OK!
Enjoying the Goodwood FOS livestream. Makes me sad that Suzuka hasn't brought back Sound of Engine since it was seemingly killed by Covid. https://t.co/yMOo1mWDSd
@kaizoushin It's my bad habit. I'll just flick through at night with a beer. At least the prices on GooBike are detached from reality enough to keep me off there.
@FranckyHawk29 I wish Harada would’ve had more success with the 500. He was certainly a rider capable of it. I think he’d be a lot more respected if he’d posted good results
@cozyhope I can't ride in Kansai for almost four months between June and September because of the heat. I'm from Canada so not riding in winter feels very 当たり前 for me. It's hard for my brain to understand not riding in the summer, haha.
@kaizoushin I suppose so, but all gear is a compromise between comfort, usability, price, and safety.
I'm sure a set of full leathers would be safer but my armoured riding jeans offer a better mix of my above four criteria.
@DalesTranslator@critical_codger If I were to upgrade, I might go with the A7C. The 24 - 240 is quite nice as well, eh? My current walking around lens is the 18 - 135 f3.5 - 5.6. Very similar coverage with the crop factor. Too handy for most situations.
Not super happy with my photos from the 8H. I feel like I'm brushing up on the limits of my cheap zoom lens but the next option up is around 80,000 yen or so. A lot to spend for hobby photography.
@DalesTranslator@critical_codger Amazing set up! Lovely coverage.
I’ve debated going fullframe but I really value the lightweight of an APSC setup. For example, the 70 - 350 APSC lens is less than half the weight of the full frame 100 - 400G
I worked in a camera shop during uni and loved play w/ the 200 - 600
@DalesTranslator@critical_codger I’m on an E-Mount mirrorless as well! These were all taken on my A6300 body with the cheap 55-210 f4.5-6.3. I’d really love to get the 70 - 350 f4.5 - 6.3 G but they’re around 80,000 yen used. What are you shooting with these days?
